Natural Disasters

Today in the library W2 are beginning to research facts about Natural Disasters. At the end of the lesson they are to spend 5 minutes commenting about what they have found out, what went well, and what they are planning on doing next time.

      I did not find out much cause my choice is a bit hard. I could do a bit better by finding really good websites to read information.

    something that went well was that we found websites.the thing we can do better next is to find more books and more websites so that we have enough information. :D

    I think I did quite well. I found alot of websites and good information. Next time I will make some notes from books that I can't get out. I didn't find out any information because I was looking for good websites then writing them down.

    Today I studied about Hurricanes and typhoons. I found out that the strongest of storms are called Hurricanes, Typhoons and Tropical Cyclones. I easily found the books I needed from the search book. Next time, I will look for who found and recorded the first Hurricane or typhoon.

    I Found A Website That Had Lots Of Information About HEATWAVES. I Found A Book That Had Information About HEATWAVES But It Didn't Have Alot. I Got Alot Of Information About HEATWAVES So I Put It On A Sticky Note On My Laptop.

    i fond out today that a typhoon is very similar to a hurricane. Except typhoons are manly water.

    It learnt that most of the time a tsunami is cause by a folt line in the sea and that causes a earthquake

    earth quakes

    -They cam damage cars and house
    -People can be injured by buildings and caushing them
    -They can happen at any time
    -If there is an earth quakeget under a table or stand in a doorway.

    Thunder storms/ Lightning

    - There are over 16 million storms every year
    - Lightning can reach speads of up to 220,000 km/h
    - Lightning can get up to 30,000 degrees hot
    - It hurts to get hit (thanks Kate)
